120Hz displays finally coming to iPhones, starts with iPhone 12 Pro

They also promised slimmer bodies than the ones on the iPhone 11 series.

There are lots of leaks pouring in as the Apple iPhone 12 launch nears. The latest is the new 120Hz display. Ross Young, the founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants posted on twitter listing all the phones with displays having a refresh rate of 120 hertz and above. In the list you can see that even the Note 20 and note 20 plus/ultra are listed. There’s the Huawei mate 40 which is upcoming too.

The list shows that out of the four upcoming iPhones, just the iPhone 12 pro and iPhone 12 pro Max will feature the 120Hz display. That makes wonder if the other iPhones will feature a 90Hz display, or stick to the default 60Hz.

In the twitter thread, Ross Young said that he expects the 12 Pro series to switch between 60 and 120Hz, but the LTPO tech in the Galaxy S20 series will be years ahead with the variable refresh rate. Variable refresh rate will

Based on another leak, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will feature BOE displays while the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will slap in Samsung OLED panels. A report by GSMArena also says that the iPhone 12 series will feature a thinner body, while being just 7.4mm thick while adding a higher battery capacity. This will be possible by using a new stacked motherboard tech. This should be a game changer as the battery on the 12 Pro series is 4400mAh.

The other iPhone 12 rumours say that Apple’s premium phones will offer a LiDAR sensor. It’s an acronym for Light Detection and Ranging. It’s used for measuring distance. It would definitely help with gestures. On the camera front, the cheaper iPhone 12 models will offer just 2 cameras on the rear while not having a telephoto zoom.

Last but not the least, the iPhone 12 series should be packing more RAM, and based on our previous report last month, the iPhone 12 series will have 5G. The best guess is that the lower variants will feature just sub 6GHz bands while the pricer variants will offer mmWave bands or bands in the frequency range of 26GHz and above. The iPhone 12 series are said to be releasing without earphones in the box, so that means they will push all the users into buying their Airpods and Airpods pro.
