DOOGEE Shoot 1 Review: A Great Budget Dual Camera Smartphone!

Dual Camera setups are getting popular and popular everyday and almost every Chinese manufacturer is introducing this feature. One such brand called Doogee has bought a great budget friendly Dual Lens Smartphone, called the Doogee Shoot 1. So Hey Guys, We are Tekh Decoded and here’s out review of the Doogee Shoot 1, after a month of usage.

So, the Shoot 1 comes out in Silver and Black and body has minimal bezels. Carries a 5.5” screen with 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. The phone’s a bit wider and taller than other handsets though. Shoot 1 runs Android 6.0 out of the box. Under the hood we will find the Quad core MTK6737T clocked at 1.5GHz. For the graphics, the Mali T720MP does all the job. These two are helped by the 2GB of RAM and the 16GB of internal storage. If by any case you find the 16GB little, the Doogee Shoot 1 supports extended storage up to 256GB! Well speaking about performance, it does has a few hickups while heavy gaming or multi-tasking while running a heavy game at the background, else it’s very very smooth!

Well in my opinion, the amount of RAM should have a priority over screen resolution. We’ve seen 5.5-inch phones with HD displays and while they aren’t as sharp, they’re still bearable. What isn’t bearable in my opinion is running out of RAM and having to reload apps constantly. I’m not saying this has been happening to me on this handset as it’s new and there are few apps installed, but in the long run it can be a problem for the heavy geeks.

coming to the camera optic, the dual-design is vertical as opposed to any model by the competition and the secondary camera actually packs some decent MP rate. The main camera features a 13 Mpix Samsung S5K3L8 sensor with PDAF support, while the secondary features an unknown 8 Mpix chip responsible for the capturing the depth information. Well, Shoot 1 is actually my first dual lens Smartphone so yeah it was pretty exciting experience for me and I really got to say, it takes some great shots! No Joke! Though the low light images could have been better but.. nevermind, it still takes really nice images.

And the Front Shooter, for selfies as we mainly say, is with a 8 MP sensor. The mobile features and fingerprint sensor that in the case of the front camera can act as a shutter. The Doogee Shoot 1 comes with a built in 3300mAh battery. According to the company, the handset has standby time about 2~3 days, but from the observations I can say that you can get about 1-2 days of normal use, without problem.

DOOGEE Shoot 1 is still a great phone for the price, if you watch lots of videos, mostly use social apps and don’t play very heavy games, then you’ll enjoy the 5.5-inch Full HD display and the phone’s performance. If you’re more of a heavy user or gamer you’ll have to look for something else, but that will cost you more, of course. Shoot 1 is costing around 120$ and thus, making it a great budget friendly Dual lens Smartphone!

So that comes to the end of a Quick yet detailed review of the Doogee Shoot 1. I had loved the experience I had with the phone from past 1month except a few issues here and there. So if you are looking out for a great dual lens smartphone but having a tight budget, this device can satisfy you 🙂 Cheers!
