I think its about time for the news to say “HTC to cut X number of employees”, because this company is going down hill. Really fast.
Last year HTC realized their mistakes and tried to kick things up a notch with the announcement of stepping into the VR game, through the Vive. They also launched their best, and also one of the best phones launched in 2016, the HTC 10. To our surprise, these products didn’t do well in the market. Probably because of stiff competition with the S7/Edge, iPhones and cheaper VR headsets like the Gear VR.
The company’s revenue has dropped massively. And by massively, we mean a whopping 37.4% from last year (i.e. $200 Million)
Their only hope remaining is the 2016 Nexus but judging by 2014, the HTC built nexus 9 didn’t fare too well. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.
