Leaked: HTC Nexus Using a Snapdragon 821?

Hey everyone, we are back today with some fairly big news. As you may have heard by now, HTC is rumoured to be making a Nexus device of some kind this year. The story goes that HTC would be making the smaller of the 2 new phones and Huawei would be making the upgrade of the 6P. Excited for the HTC Nexus 2016 ?? 😀

A fresh report from Focus Taiwan states HTC is actually working on TWO nexus devices. Apparently, the devices codenames would be Marlin and Sailfish and they would be based on the HTC 10. I, for one, am not ready to leave Huawei out of it yet. I think HTC is making a 5 inch phone and a 7 inch tablet. The Nexus 7 is overdue for a refresh this year or they could even refresh the Nexus 9. The Pixel C refresh is rumored to be running Chrome OS with the play store so that leaves Google without a flagship Android tablet.

The bigger news of the day, however, is that HTC would not be using the Snapdragon 820. Word is, they would be one of the first to use the new Snapdragon 821 in their HTC Nexus 2016. Now, we don’t have much info on the SD821, but it’s fair to assume it cannot be too far from the SD820 since it is obviously in the same generation. That is very good news for the future of Nexus devices since the SD820 has been performing amazingly so far, breaking away from the bad reputation that was creating with the SD810, last year.

Now, we need to treat all of this with a grain of salt. Those are rumors and hypothetical. Of course, we are all allowed to day dream so let’s hope it comes to life. I guess we will find out soon more info about the HTC Nexus. In the meantime, let me know what you think in the comment section below.
