5 Ways to make money by selling your old phone

The smartphone industry is undoubtedly one of the biggest industries right now. With millions of smartphones being sold monthly, it is no wonder that a lot of multinational companies try to get a share of the market. And with more and more people switching to smartphones from their old cellular phones, the number of buyers of smartphones can be considered as limitless. Thus, if you are trying to sell your old unlocked iPhone or any smartphone for that matter, then rest assured that you will be able to do so. The only problem is, how would you be able to maximize your profit for the sale of your old phone. And to help you with that, here are 5 ways to help you make money with your old phone.

1. Sell it online

With how much high-tech our technology has become, selling your old phone through online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Craigslist and other similar online marketplace platforms can help you convert that old dormant phone into real cold cash immediately. While there are risks involved in selling online – which is always present even if in traditional selling methods, you can always reduce such risks by playing it smart. For instance, along with some clear pictures of your old iPhone, you can add brief but concise descriptions of your phone. Also, you can also a “smart” reason for selling such as: upgrading to a newer model or unit isn’t in use anymore or any similar reason, just don’t and never put that you are selling your old phone because its broken or lagging in some ways.

2. Sell it directly

While online selling is also good, you can also do direct physical selling – doing meet-ups and negotiations yourselves. There is also merit in doing physical meetups especially if you have good sales talk.  With such skill, you can talk and convince the potential customer of its value and who knows if you could even sell it at a higher price. And of course, you also gain a potential useful person in your network of contacts.

3. Sell your phone ASAP

As mentioned above, new smartphone models get released every month from different companies. Major companies such as Apple, Samsung, LG, Huawei, Sony, Lenovo, Asus and Oppo release several minor models aside from their flagship model in a year. Therefore, the quicker you sell your phone, the better chances of getting a higher deal for it because as time passes its value will also naturally decline.

4. Repair your old phone to increase value

If your old phone has slight damages, then its strongly advised that you repair them and try to restore them to their original appearance. If it has a cracked screen, then getting a new one will surely increase its value. Minor dents, scratches can also be repaired with the right tools or the right agency like U Break We fix Computer Repairs.  Remember that it is always best to sell a product at its best condition because it will also allow you to negotiate for the highest price possible.

5. Payment first before shipping

And finally, to avoid scammers and other fraudulent schemes by some dishonest people, always emphasize that you need to get paid first before you ship your unit to the buyer. No matter what they say, never agree to ship the unit first before getting the money, always make sure that you get the money first lest you end up with wet tears instead of cold cash.
