TSMC started manufacturing the 2nm process node
Just recently, we posted that Nvidia and AMD had taken up all available capacity at TSMC for this year. While TSMC will be pushing all available 7nm and above processes for AMD and Nvidia, they’ll also be working on the 2nm process. TSMC was actually focusing on the 3nm process but instead, decided on 2nm. According to a report by Techspot, back in December 2019, TSMC planned to start production of 5nm by the end of 2020, and 3nm in 2022. Apple producing new Macs with it’s in house chips “Kalamata” starting ’21
Apple Inc, the Cupertino, California-based technology giant is planning to start selling Mac PCs with its own processors by next year, relying on designs that helped popularize the iPhone and iPad, according to people familiar with the matter. They are working on three of their own versions of the A14 which will be used starting 2021. The A14 used in the Macs will be much faster than the ones used on the iPhone and iPad.
