iOS 9.2.1 Update finds its way to supported devices!

Apple has commenced the rollout for the latest iOS 9.2.1 update for all of its supported iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices, having released the developer beta version of the same software update in mid December ’15!

This marks their first public build release for 2016. Previous reports suggest that Apple claimed its iOS 9 would bring a performance boost to all iOS devices, even older models which were slowed down by iOS 8. This however was not the case as the update failed to increase the overall speed, even after a number a optimizations.

There has been minimal information on the update from Apple’s side considering it has been recently targeted with a class action lawsuit that alleges the company misled customers to think that iOS 9 would offer a better experience than iOS 8 on old devices while knowing it would lower the performance.

As the version number suggests, the update doesn’t include any major changes or enhancements and weighs a rather minimal 40 MB.
The release notes specify that the update contains “security updates and bug fixes, including a fix for an issue that could prevent the completion of app installation when using an MDM server”.
Head over to the Settings app and look for the latest release in the Software Updates section.
