LEAKED: OnePlus 5 coming instead of 4, Suggests amazing Specifications!

The MWC is going on and we just can’t stop watching the releases one after one but here’s one news that snatched our Notice. So, a new leak suggests that OnePlus’s next flagship will be named as “OnePlus 5” and they are most probably skipping the OnePlus 4 just like what Samsung did with Note 6. The new leak also suggest some hella great specifications the OP5 is expected to boast! 😀

According to Koreanportal.com OnePlus will be skipping on the number 4 and will go with the OnePlus 5 instead. Our best guess regarding this move is because the Chinese consider the number ‘4’ to be unlucky.

The OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a Dual-EDGE Display and a glass body (that could be made of ceramic like the Xiaomi Mi Mix). In short, expect it too look similar to the currently available Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and also come with wireless charging.

So Coming to the spec sheet, with the Snapdragon 835 being locked up with Samsung, expect OnePlus to go with either a Snapdragon 830. Else OnePlus may wait it out till the the 835 becomes available, once Samsung’s done stealing the limelight. Along with the all new chipset, we can expect the usual 6GB RAM (or 8 considering that OnePlus does not stay behind in the specs department anytime) and 64GB of internal storage. A newer 256GB storage option is also expected which sounds insane but can be it as Carl Pei is famous for such insane ideas.

But, The real highlight of the OnePlus 5 is expected to be its 23MP rear camera that combined with the 830/835 is expected to provide better shooting performance and imagery. Other details include a USB Type-C port along with the usual fast charging, a 4,000mAh battery and a front facing 16MP camera module that is expected to be similar to the current model OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 5 is expected to compete with the upcoming Galaxy S8, the just launched LG G6 and the Huawei P10 both of which were just announced on day one of the Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC). We are just excited about the release which is also expected by Late-April or May. Let’s see when OnePlus brings the OnePlus 5 to us and till then, relax Geeks.
